"Janice called into my shop in Yarm a couple of weeks ago and invited me to her exhibition in the gallery a few doors away. We chatted about her paintings and she told me abour her Roseberry Topping room online. After looking at her work I contacted her and asked her to show me the 2 she had for sale. I actually live in Great Ayton and see Roseberry every day. I have Roseberry paintings around my home including one given to me by her uncle many many years ago as a wedding present. This all came out in conversation and we had no idea that there was this connection; a pleasant surprise for both of us. She brought both of them in and as I could not choose between them I bought both depsite her protesting that I didn't have to. As I told her, I only buy what I like and I liked them both. I have to say that the paintings are far better in the flesh and are not done justice by the photographs of them. I am looking forward to having a look at her other work when she has her exhibition."
