Affordable original paintings and drawings of your pet cat or kitten are available to commission online from one of a number of contemporary artists specialising in feline portraiture.

Cat portrait artists can create a beautiful original painting or drawing of your pampered pet in your chosen media including watercolour, pastel, pencil, charcoal, oil, acrylic or pen and ink.

A cat portrait artist will usually request at least one nice clear photograph of your pet to work from.

The amount of time a cat portrait takes to complete and the cost will depend on the size and media involved as well as the artist's current commitments. Sometimes there are special commission requests, you may want to have two cats rather than one or a cat and her kittens for example. If you have another pet as well as your cat and would like to combine the two in a commission the artist may be able to do so. The cost is arranged in advance and an initial deposit is usually requested before work commences on the commission with the balance payable upon completion.

When you arrange to buy a cat portrait you may decide that you would prefer to have it supplied unframed to enable you to choose your own frame or the artist may supply it framed. Alternatively some pet portrait artists work on modern frameless surfaces like box canvas or wood panel so that the cat portrait can hang directly on the wall without need for a frame.
