Wendy Fraser
I'll paint anything in any medium, happy in the knowledge that I can learn something new with each brush stroke, improve my skills and get great enjoyment out of the challenge. Hence my work is probably fairly eclectic at this stage. Some of my best work has been generated by commissions - being asked to produce something that I would probably never have thought myself capable of tackling had I not been asked. My one inspiration has always been horses, but I deliberately chose other subjects until I had acquired some fundamental ability to paint. I have attended some short courses but I'm mainly self-taught. Only recently have I felt sufficiently well equipped overall to concentrate on drawing and painting horses, and I now plan to delve deeper into the subject. My other interests are still life in any medium and trompe l'oeil murals. I exhibit my work at the Elham Valley Arts, near Folkestone, Kent. Most of my work is available as greetings cards, and originals that have already sold can be purchased as prints. |
