Arum Lily was the inspiration for a limited edition vase for Moorcroft in 2001 called 'Remember'.
The aim of this painting is to combine a strong, well defined image with the flowing elegance of Art Nouveau.
A suggestion of cool cream and green in the flowers, a touch of olive in the glossy green leaves and a hint of rich orange within the cones of the flowers, these combine to make a really classy clean image.
The formal shaped background, surrounded by a strong dark burgundy is mottled and marbled, warm and cool greys. This is an effect gained by using a salt technique and lots of patience!
This picture just oozes Art Nouveau.
