Work based on flowers+
10 artworks
These paintings are inspired by the wonderful shapes of flowers. The shapes and colours may have been exaggerated to enhance the design. Often the negative spaces of the background shapes have equal importance. Most of my work is very bright, and lots of layers of colour have been used as the work develops. Some of the paintings have areas of added texture to increase their impact.

Textured abstracts+
17 artworks
These paintings really need to be viewed close up to appreciate the detail and texture. Most are mixed media with areas of string, gold thread or hessian added . The paint is textured with tissue paper underneath. This gives a lovely depth to the paint, with many layers of colour showing through.

Trees and leaves+
11 artworks
Most of this work is abstract and pattern-like. I am always inspired by the fascinating shapes of trees. I love the spaces between the branches, and the way all the shapes tangle up. I have many photographs of trees that I use for inspiration. I often mix up leaf shapes with tree shapes to create an interesting affect. My colours are usually very bold and I often add areas of texture.

Landscapes+

These are a selection of works usually based on places I have travelled to. Most are based on a selection of photographs. Nothing is ever just copied. I always play around with the composition and change the colours. I particularly love textured and weathered landscapes. Most of my landscapes are painted in an impressionistic style, with lots of layers built up until I am happy with the colour balance.

SEASCAPES
These paintings reflect the colours and the movement of water. They look at the light on the water and the changes in colour with time of day, weather and seasons.
