Roni Sarraf
Artist's Biography

I have been painting and drawing as far back as I can remember. I then went on to study textile and graphic design which has influenced the direction of my work in recent years. Although painting and sketching is where I always start off, my finished pieces sometimes develop into fabric or canvas prints, either through hand screen-printing methods, or digitally.
My work is mainly influenced by the city landscape, music, dance and art movements such as Abstract Expressionism, Dadaism, Cubism and Surrealism. Artists work I admire are Dali, Jackson Pollock, Barbara Krueger, Michiko Kon, Picasso, David LaChapelle and Gregory Cruedson to name but a few. However, I like to keep an open mind as I like to draw inspiration from everywhere and everyone, which I think is an important element of continually developing my work and keeping it fresh.
After traveling in the Middle-East, Europe and America, I continue to live and work in London, drawing on inspiration from the places and people I have been fortunate enough to see and meet.
