About My Art

I like to extract new forms seen in different city venues, as well as dances such as Capoiera and Break dancing and transform them into something new and visually exciting for the viewer.
I take shapes and textures conventionally thought of as ugly or visually unpleasant and reinterpret them into something beautiful. I want to redefine disorder and decay into vibrant textures and visuals; at times representing the backdrop of some of the amazing cities I have visited from London, New York and Barcelona.
The main influences on my work are artists such as Jackson Pollock, Picasso and Dali. I also love middle-eastern art and calligraphy and take inspiration from artists such as Zenderoudi and Shirin Neshat.
I also find the concept of Street art fascinating. From "traditional" graffiti which consisted of tags and colourful throw ups, to stencils, stickers, posters, mosaics and light-emissions. The method has always inspired me as the art incorporates, changes and evolves with the progression of the city. It lives and dies as one with the landscape it is born on, and does not need to be preserved or protected to stay beautiful like conventional art.
I have been drawing and painting for the last 14 years as painting and drawing is and will always be my first love.
