A little bit about me

Artist's Biography


I am a self taught Hampshire artist who took up painting about 10 years ago as a hobby, but now every spare minute I have I like to paint.
I first started selling my work at craft fairs and then when my confidence grew, moved on to exhibitions. My pictures have been sent world wide, America, India, Canada, Australia and Europe. there is a terrific buzz you get from selling a painting that you have created. I have always been interested in painting all my life. Art was my favourite subject at school, but only took it up seriously once my child had flown the nest, I have always enjoyed drawing, and like many amateur painters, I started painting with, what I thought, was the easiest medium - watercolour. However that was fine for floral paintings, but when it came to landscapes I struggled, make one mistake and you ended up with a ruined painting, that is when I discovered soft pastels, and a whole new world opened up.
I always like to try something new and experiment with different mediums.
