Nicki Rosetti
Artist's Biography

I have followed two parallel carreers in the arts, one as an artist and one in music.
My art grounding was gained as a pupil of Joan Wills VPSWA who took two pupils every year in her St Johns Wood studio. Here I gained the essential skills upon which to build a painting career.
My second career was in music both as a musician and latterly as a producer working with local bands as well as major bands such as Coldplay and Keane. If you want more information about that, just google for me but now I concentrate completely on art.
I lived and worked in London for many years, but since the sale of the music business, I have moved out to the Essex countryside to build a new studio and get re-inspired artwise. This has led to many new departures for me in style and subject, becoming more and more loose (artwise I mean) as my distance from the great metrollops increases.
It is true that the open spaces of the British countryside give a totally new perspective to outdoor subjects, you can see the horizon here, everything is more expansive, you can’t fail to be inspired. Perhaps it is strange then, that I now choose to focus in on the minutia of constructing a painting!
Anyway, I am now embarking on a new and, for me, exciting phase of my painting with new horizons, new subjects, new viewpoints and new techniques all clamouring for attention.
