Nick Turner
Artist's Biography

I was born in 1979 in Maldon Essex. After secondary school and A levels I undertook a Foundation course, enabling me to take a degree. I went to Loughborough University in Leicestershire where I attained a first Class degree in Illustration. For my degree show I concentrated on animation but my portfolio also contained a strong emphasis on drawing.
Whilst at Loughborough I was short listed for an animation competition run by the Royal Society for the Arts (RSA). I also was one of the finalists in the inaugural Society of Artists Agents (SAA) Illustration competition and had my entry exhibited at the London transport Museum. I also represented Loughborough University at D&AD 2002.
In 2003 I managed to secure a position at a school in Colchester. I'm the resident artist at the school; a role which encompasses many aspects. I paint murals and large scale images for the various departments, produce literature and stationary, design and paint the set for the school production and occasionally work
with the children on group projects.
I find my job provides a varied set of challenges. However I will always like producing work which is based on my own interests, I hope you find the latter (to be found in the following pages) interesting.
