This series of new paintings was inspired by my stay in California earlier this year. I have been trying to capture the feel and the atmosphere of the places I visited, mainly the beautiful Pacific Ocean beaches and the associated ' Surf Scene' of San Diego and the surrounding area, but also the vastness and breathtaking views of the Grand Canyon. I don't know if I have succeeded, but I certainly felt like I was there again with each piece I painted, so I have spend the whole last year California dreaming!
I hope they will take you there too when you look at them.
These paintings will be exhibited for the first time in my first solo exhibition at 'The Castle' in Wellingborough, Northants. from Sat 4th - Thursday 30th of September 2010

This room is dedicated to my flower paintings. I am always fascinated by the wonderful colours and shapes of flowers and never tire to paint them. They are mostly from my own garden which offers me an endless supply material. The transparency and luminosity of Watercolours lend themselves perfectly to this subject.
