Red Hen Artist's Collective exhibits for the third year running courtesy of the Churches Conservation Trust as part of the Brighton May Festival. The theme this year is 'trees'.

Lou exhibits 2 appliqué banners, 3m x 1m, originally made for the Red Hen Artist's 2004 exhibition in St Andrew's Church, Hove; now, at last, emerging from the back of the wardrobe to be seen once again as part of this exhibition with Helen, Annie (and her students), local Chichester artists.

Lou opens her house to ex colleagues, friends and acquaintances to preview her work for the Brighton May Festival. Also exhibiting the few remaining unsold mackerel paintings and a selected retrospective of previous Red Hen years.

MAKING WAVES
Open Fri's, Sats and Suns throughout May, staffed by the artists.
An exhibition as part of SeaBritain 2005 (a national celebration of the coast of the UK), and as part of the Brighton Festival Fringe, Making Waves is a celebration of the Sussex Coast. The venue is St Peter's Church, Preston Park, Brighton, a Churches Conservation Trust building and 10% of the sales of all artwork is donated to out regular partners the Churches Conservation Trust and to the RNLI, our chosen charity for this exhibition. Lou exhibits alongside 6 of her fellow Hens this Festival, Abi Macloed-Clark, Colin Clark, Jon Lodge, Colin Bourner, Annabel Smith and Martin Chandler + guest artists. The exhibition includes painting, photography, display design, theatre design, mosaic and appliqué all on the theme of the Sussex coast, plus, in the usual Red Hen style, a bit of set dressing appropriately themed!

An exhibition in/theatrical dressing of the stairwell and upstairs cafe space of this Hove community centre by invitation of the Brunswick Festival, Hove.

'AlteRaTions'
As part of the Brighton Festival Fringe and by permission of the Churches Conservation Trust, the theme of this exhibition was 'icons & imagery' (religious and of the stage and silver screen). Work was exhibited by 13 artists for the month of May in St Andrew's Church (a Churches Conservation Trust building), Waterloo Street, Hove, Sussex with 10% of all artwork sales going to this charity. Red Hen exhibited paintings, photography, appliqué work, illustrations, collage, mosaic, shrines, applied arts and banners, mostly produced especially for this exhibition, which was staffed by the artists themselves.
Exhibitions pre 2004 include: Brighton Dome (Fringe Festival brochure front cover illustration winners 2003); Theatre Royal, Brighton (with Brighton Illustrators Group); Phoenix Gallery, Brighton (printmaking exhibition); Sussex Arts Club, Brighton (with the Brighton Illustrators Group), Harrow Arts Centre; Trade Union Congress Centre, London; Angle Gallery, Birmingham; Uxbridge Arts Centre + various cafés, bars and restaurants in London and Brighton.
