Originally trained as a graphic designer, I became a full time artist 5 years ago. My work mainly focuses on landscapes and seascapes which I paint using a painting knife to give texture. Working in an impressionistic style, I try to capture the atmosphere of the scene instead of a realistic interpretation. Some of my landscape paintings could be described as semi abstract. It is always a challenge trying to capture the effects of dramatic light and weather conditions. I paint on a variety of surfaces depending on what sort of effect I am trying to achieve.
