Brigitte Hayden
Artist's Biography

I live in West Yorkshire. I have an education which includes an Honours Degree in Psychology, a Master of Science degree, a postgraduate teaching qualification and a Diploma in Podiatric Medicine.
I have worked in Public Services including the Royal Air Force, Adult Education and the National Health Service. I was a Podiatrist for 15 years.
I have studied watercolour painting techniques since September 2000. I have always enjoyed walking in the countryside and use memories and photographs as a basis for my watercolour paintings.
I exhibit and sell my paintings in local and national shows and I have had paintings selected for the Leisure Painter and Artist magazines international competition/exhibition at the Patchings Art Festival (a recognition of a high level of competence in an art medium). In 2007 I was very happy to sell both of my paintings as they were amongst work created by many other experienced and professional artists. In 2008 I have had Elterwater Autumn selected as being Highly Commended'.
This year I have had my work accepted by the Fine Art Society of Sheffield University and I am looking forward to exhibiting with them next year at the Turner Glass Museum (March 2009).
I now paint as often and as much as I can and hope to develop new outlets for my work.
