Annette McKinnon
Artist's Biography

I have always enjoyed drawing and painting from an early age, sketching members of my family, pet dog and anything else of interest around me.
Born in Tyne & Wear in a small mining village, I lived next to woodlands where I would often walk with my parents, from which I found much inspiration and a love and passion for woodland scenes.
At school art lessons were always something to look forward to, always coming either 1st or 2nd in the yearly exams.
I did not go on to study art after leaving school as I was advised by teachers to do a Secretarial course, which I did, but I continued painting, and eventually began painting professionally in 1996.
My work can be found in numerous galleries throughout Northumberland, Tyne & Wear and County Durham.
I exhibit my work yearly at St John's Hall, Snods Edge, near Shotley Bridge Co Durham, alongside many other local artists.
There is so much to learn about painting, and I find it very exciting, I am always keen to start the next picture.
All my new work is now signed in my maiden name Bushby and not Mckinnon as previous.
